Bible Study on Holy Communion – Winter 2019

From Pastor SunAe Lee-Koo

Do you know why you eat the One bread and share the One cup when we have Holy Communion? Do you know other names by which we refer to Holy Communion? Have you yet to experience the difference between the before and after of the Sacrament of Holy Communion? Pastor SunAe will offer a Bible Study on the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Please join us in Memorial Hall on Wednesday mornings for six weeks starting on January 16, 2019 at 10am. Questions? Please send an email to sleekoo@lpcumc.org!

Baptism Bible Study – Fall 2018

From Pastor SunAe Lee-Koo

Baptism is a Christian Initiation Rite that signifies the beginning of one’s journey as a Christian. Our baptism certifies our Christian identity – that we belong to the Universal Church through our local church membership among various denominations. There are people who think comfortably that her/his soul has secured a heavenly place through the Rite of Baptism. However, I am afraid that their misunderstanding may lead them to go astray from the Church, from their Christian faith and from their wishful destination.

Through Bible study on Baptism, I hope to enlighten your understanding of Baptism, and I hope that the Holy Spirit may empower you to live according to your Baptism in the name of the Trinitarian God. Please come and join us for our Wednesday Morning Bible Study starting Wednesday, the 17th of October, 2018. We will meet in Room #101 of the Educational Wing.

Mid-Week Lenten Bible Study Series

Adam Hamilton - The Way

During the season of Lent, we will meet on Wednesday Nights, Feb. 17-March 23, from 7-8:30 PM, in Memorial Hall, to watch and discuss Adam Hamilton’s Bible Study series “The Way: Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus.” Over six weeks we will travel by video with Adam Hamilton to the Holy Lands and retrace Jesus’ baptism and temptation, healing ministry, preaching of the kingdom of God, miracles, ministry to sinners, outcasts and the poor, and his final week in Jerusalem. Through video segments of the Holy Lands, Bible passages, and discussion, we will explore what it means for us today “to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.” I hope you’ll make this mid-week study part of your Lenten journey.
